Naretu Indomonok Women Organization works across several villages in Monduli District (e.g. Esilalei, Baraka, Losirwa, Mungere & Oltukai) to improve women’s lives through a variety of empowerment programs. Their approach includes:
Economic Empowerment & Financial Inclusion:
i). We Providing interest‐free loans to women’s groups (VICOBA‐type groups) so that women can start or expand small businesses, pay for school fees, or purchase livestock.
ii). Ensuring follow‐up support: training in business skills, savings, and income generation to ensure women use loans wisely and sustainably.
Adult Literacy & Education
i). We Organizing adult education classes so that women learn to read and write; this helps in many aspects of life, from managing businesses to understanding health information or participating in village governance.
ii). We Establishing a baseline for literacy (you mentioned ~70% of women in the villages now can read and write) to improve women’s confidence, communication, and participation.
Support for Formal Education
i). We Supporting girls to pursue higher education (e.g. diploma or certificate level) through scholarships, tuition support, or sponsorships.
ii). We Help women who want to further their education, by creating pathways and mentorship to continue their studies.
Health & Reproductive Education
i). We Educate women on family planning, contraceptive use, the risks associated with early pregnancy, and the importance of regular clinic visits.
ii). We Focus on Raising awareness around maternal health and ensuring women know their health rights and can access services.
Monitoring & Capacity Building
i). Close follow‐ups with women who receive support (loans, education, training) to ensure the resources provided are being used effectively.
ii). We Provide Regular training workshops in business, savings, leadership, record keeping, negotiation, and perhaps gender rights, so women become more self‐reliant.
Social Empowerment & Leadership
i). Encouraging women to participate in decision‐making at community and family levels.
ii). Building women’s confidence and leadership skills through peer groups or forums, so women’s voices are heard in village governance or in community affairs.
Sustainability & Scaling
i). Circulating loan funds so one woman’s repayment becomes capital to help others.
ii). Ensuring that projects are locally owned and managed, so when external support ends, women’s groups can sustain the activities on their own.
